THE ARTWORK of a Gorey student is to feature on next year's Credit Union calendar and poster, after she took first prize in her category in the national competition.
Aliesha Kirwan, from Hazelwood, Gorey, and a second year student at Gorey Community School, was a winner in the Gorey Credit Union Art competition in her category, and then went on to win at Chapter level, before progressing to the national finals.
The competition, previously known as the poster competition, is now in its 28th year, and attracts up to 50,000 entries through 300 Credit Unions nationwide.
Aliesha achieved first prize at the National final and received a €500 prize at a ceremony in Dublin on February 12 next.
