From November 18th to 22nd, our school embraced Geography Awareness Week with a series of engaging activities that brought the subject to life. Each morning began with fascinating geography facts shared over the intercom. Geography students participated in fun table quizzes, explored tectonic activity on a movie trip to see San Andreas, and conducted a school-wide population survey to highlight the diverse origins of our community.
Creative contests added to the excitement, including a photography competition showcasing stunning student work with Mia Robbins (3rd Year) winning the photography competition for her stunning Puffin Island photo, followed by Aoibhinn O’Brien (2nd Year) and Samantha Byrne (3rd Year).
Also there was a daily “Where is Wally?” challenge, which delighted participants of all ages with prizes awarded to Jim Kavanagh (1st Year), Kinga Switon (3rd Year), and Millie Miller Byrne (6th Year) .
The week was a vibrant celebration of how geography connects us, inspiring everyone to explore and appreciate the world around us.
