Last year, all 1st Year and Transition Year students at Gorey Community School were trained in vital life-saving skills, including Hands-only CPR, AED use, Recovery Position, and Stroke F.A.S.T. The GCS CPR Team was honored with the National IHF CPR for Schools Award, and team members Caroline Kennedy, Collette Price, and Arlette Bradley received individual Heroes Awards for their exceptional efforts.
Training will continue this year, with current TYs already trained and 1st Year students scheduled for later in the school year.

👩❤️👩CPR DURING OUR OPEN EVENINGS AT GOREY COMMUNITY SCHOOL😍
GCS is the only secondary school in Ireland that offers new perspective parents and their sons/daughters & families an opportunity to learn about CPR / USING AN AED MACHINE / F.A.S.T PROGRAMME (STROKE) / CHOKING RECOGNITION / RECOVERY POSITION with our hands-on, up close training during our Open Evening.
Both our Trainers & our trained Students welcome you all to GCS where vital life-saving techniques & life-saving skills are part of our curriculum. We take saving lives and learning about how to deal with and prevention of the above outlined situations very seriously.
All of our 1st Years are trained and during Transition Year we refresh previous skills and complete the F.A.S.T Programme, dealing with Strokes.
We are an award-winning school in these fields of expertise.
We would love to welcome you and do come and pay us a visit at our outdoor stand in the QUAD every year. You all can make a difference and it could be a life-saving visit. It only takes 3 steps to save a life! We can train you in less than 3 minutes!
