May 17th already. The year is flying!
Awards Week
The events we have scheduled for this week allow GCS to celebrate the successes and achievements of our students, and while the week ahead is a busy one, it is a welcome opportunity to acknowledge our wonderful students.
The gym is unrecognisable and will see plenty of activity this week. The awards programme is as follows:
Monday - TY Awards.
7pm - 7.30 - An opportunity to view the displays, with the ceremony starting at 7.30.
Parents of TY students are most welcome to attend.
Tuesday - 6th Year Awards Ceremony (daytime event)
Tuesday 7pm - The parents of incoming 1st Year students' Information Meeting.
Wednesday - 1st Year, 2nd Year and 3rd Year Awards Ceremonies (Three separate daytime events)
Thursday - 5th Year Awards (Daytime Event)
Thursday at 7.30 - 6th Year Graduation Service. Refreshments following the service are provided by the parents Association.
Friday - Ice Cream Van.
Full school uniform is required at all of the above ceremonies. (Except in cases where I have given permission for PE gear to be used for medical reasons)
China Tour
Some places have become available and current 1st/2nd Year students can apply. Please contact Ms. Leacy (mleacy@goreycs.ie) for more information.
Exams
I am attaching the timetables for the 1st, 2nd and 5th Year May Assessments.
JCPA
A form has been placed on the 3rd Year and TY Teams pages which the students are asked to complete in order to provide information which will be placed on the students' Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement.
Have a nice week, and it looks like temperatures are set to increase.
